9 Things You Need to Know About This Spring

Fresh Tips for March

by SHFamily | Thu, March 22, 2018

The weather is warming up, and we're seeing luscious blooms flowering all over the city. Here's what else you need to take note of.

Pretty plating

Head on over to the Portman Ritz-Carlton for an afternoon of fabulous food and pretty plating. Guest Chef Lejard will perform a fabulous cooking demonstration for a three-course menu, featuring delicious items like salmon with beetroot, apple and wasabi, risotto with light soy sauce, tofu, cilantro and spinach, and octopus with strawberry and tomato on the morning of March 31st. The class is ¥198 per person, and you can call 21 6279 7166 for reservations.

Stories for all

Storytelling platform Unravel celebrates its 1-year anniversary on March 22nd! This time around, the event will be held at the gorgeous WeWork space on Weihai Lu, where five people will take the stage to share their stories of what "Feel Like a Woman" means to them. Whether you're out with your older children or can steal away for a date night with your partner, this celebratory occasion is one you won't want to miss out on. For advanced ticketing, go to 247tickets.com, where ¥50 will guarantee you a seat and a drink of your choice (tickets will be ¥60 at the door). Better yet, if you're interested in getting involved or even telling a story of your own, you can email unravelshanghai@gmail.com.

HOW cultural!

In it's second exhibition, the HOW Art Museum puts Joseph Beuys in dialogue with Nam June Paik, the American artist famous for using neon structures and looped television screens. The contemporary exhibit runs through May 13th, and is perfect for older teens looking to further their understanding of the lesser-known art movement Fluxus. To lean more, visit howartmuseum.org.

It's a win-win for everyone! To start spending and saving, add them on WeChat at: popologroup.
