In the coming weeks, the rain can quickly leave little ones feeling restless when trapped indoors. Stop those choruses of "I'm bored" right in their tracks with these seven arts and crafts ideas.
This easy, homemade clay is sure to keep your kids occupied for hours. Made with white glue, cornstarch, baby oil and lemon juice, the creative possibilities are endless. Your kids will be able to use this DIY clay to make stamps, little action figures, painted ornaments, cute clay toast...anything their creative minds desire
What you'll need:

1. Combine all of your ingredients into a saucepan and heat slowly. Be sure to keep stirring it!
2. After around 5-10 minutes, the mixture will change in consistancy and change into a semi-solid form. At this point, remove it from the heat and knead the clay for a couple of minutes. Be careful though, as it will be hot.
3. Use immediately or store in a plastic bag, in a refrigerator, until needed.
4. Using a rolling pin, fallen leafs or other items for imprints (hands included!) your little ones can create anything they want.
Dish soap isn't just for washing, it's useful for creating art too! This straightforward activity lets your kids enjoy playing with bubbles indoors and have a colorful creation at the end of the day too.

1. Mix together the paint and dish soap inside your tray.
2. Add some water, ensuring that it is fluid enogh to blow bubbles!
3. Use a straw and blow into the paint to make bubbles.
4. Place your piece of paper on top of the bubbles. As soon as they pop, you can remove the paper and leave the newly created piece of art somewhere to dry.
Using just four materials, you and your kids can create an entire bouquet of yarn flowers that will never wilt. These will, undoubtedly spruce up the room.

1. Place the pipe cleaner alongside your fork. Wrap both the fork and the pipe cleaner together with yellow yarn. You'll need to wrap this around 25-30 times around the fork.
2. Twist the pipe cleaner together around the end of the yarn. You'll need to wrap this three times down the handle (stem of your flower) and then back up to the top.
3. Cut a four-inch piece of your green yarn and tie it around the base of the flower and remove the tassel from the fork. Knot this tight, at least two times, and trim the ends of the green yarn close to the knot itself.
4. Cut an eight inch piece of green yarn and add a small spot of glue near the knot to attach. Here, you'll need to wrap the flower from the green knot down to the stem so that none of the yellow yarn shows.
5. Wrap the green yarn until it is about 1/4 inch from the end, add a spot of glue to the flower base and secure the ends.
6. Cut the loops of the yellow yarn with scissors, and use another fork to slightly fray the ends. Trimming any stray threads that you may have.
Voila! You'll have your first yarn flower!
If you haven't tried raised salt paintings yet, now is the time to do so. Not only are they easy to do, but are easily made with items that you might already have in your house – salt and watercolor paint. It's simple, quick and (relatively) mess free!

1. Get your kids to squeeze their artful designs or pictures onto the card stock.
2. Sprinkle the glue tracks with salt until the glue is completely covered. Make sure to tip the card until all the excess salt falls off.
3. Dip a paintbrush into the bright watercolor paints and gently touch this to the salt covered glue lines. Watch the surprise on your kids face as the color magically spreads throughuout the design. Once completed, set aside to dry.
If your kids love playing with shaving cream, then this is the perfect way to turn their messy obsession into art! All you'll need is some shaving foam (not gel) and a few drops of food coloring.

1. Mix your shaving cream with the preferred amount of food coloring – depending on the intensity of color you're looking for.
2. Next, let your kids wild imaginations go wild!
Building off from shaving cream paint, stir in some white Elmer's glue (or similar) and you'll be able to make your very own foamy concoction for even more artsy creations that will solidify overnight.

1. Place equal parts of shaving cream and glue in a ziplock bag.
2. Add in one of your favorite colors fo food dye and seal the bag nice and tight!
3. Mix everything together by squeezing the ingredients around, gently.
4. Once your little artist has finalised their ideas of what they would like to create on their cardboard, all you need to do is snip off the bottom corner of the ziplock bag.
5. All they need to do now is pipe their design out and set aside to dry.
While you're indoors, spruce up some of your kid's plain, old T-shirts using a simple tye-dye method sans the mess. We're sure the whole family will love creating their own colorful patterns to wear again and again.

1. Choose the starting point on your t-shirt. Place a cup underneath (right side up) and secure a rubber band around the rim. This will stretch this part of the t-shirt.
2. Pick your color and start coloring within the center of the stretched circle.
3. Next, with your dropper, drop some rubbing alcohol onto the center of your design and watch as the colors magically spread.
4. Keep going in this way until you have your preferred design
