Parents, guardians, and caregivers!
Last month, we announced this year's Shanghai Family Parents&Kids, and HuMaNiuWa annual Art & Writing Competition, and up till now we have already received quite a number of submissions from students living in Shanghai and surrounding cities.
For more than ten years, we have been providing various chances for all young children living in and around Shanghai to showcase their skills, with our Art & Writing Competition being just one of many opportunities to help nurture children's creativity and improve their writing.
We wish to express our gratitude to the following international schools, bilingual schools, and kindergartens for their ongoing support.

Alongside the many artworks and compositions we have received are messages from students expressing that although they are very keen to take part in our A&W Competition many are too busy preparing for final exams to find the time required to make a design.
On that note, we have decided to extend the submission deadline to allow more young students to submit their pieces. We invite all students aged 3-18 living in Shanghai or surrounding cities to enter a piece of artwork or writing. Those who are highlighted in the competition will have the chance to either have their work exhibited or to give a speech at our 2020 Awards Ceremony.
In recognition of the current environmental concerns affecting our planet, our theme this year will be ‘Eco Future’.
For the art competition, children can choose to either draw/sketch/paint a piece of artwork or make a model/ sculpture using recycled materials depicting how they envision a greener, more sustainable world. For the writing competition, children should write a letter to the mayor of Shanghai with their suggestions on how we can make Shanghai more eco-friendly and why they think this is important.
For fairness' sake, the competition will be separated into two age groups: 3 - 10 and 11 - 18. The most popular artworks will be chosen once all the entries have been collected.
All submissions are due by 31st January 2020.
Good luck everyone!
