As of today 18th February, a press conference held by the Municipal Epidemic Prevention and Control Leading Group revealed that all Shanghai-based schools will from 2nd March deliver classes and learning online. Students are not to visit school campuses for any reason. Training schools and nurseries have been instructed that they are not permitted to offer offline training/ preschool services during this period.
At present, the Municipal Education Commission has not confirmed how long this period of online education will last but will announce a new determined date upon further evaluation.
As the epidemic continues and knowledge surrounding the virus remains uncertain, utilising online learning platforms and delaying school opening dates is the best way to ensure the safety of students, families, and faculty.
