"Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see?" I see an exhibition calling me! And this is exactly how we felt when we heard about Eric Carle's exhibition coming into town.

As a mum who loves art and reading, Eric Carle‘s books are a wonderful combination of both. Especially, having simple storylines and captivating illustrations. In "The Playful World of Eric Carle" kids get to see his characters come to life through engaging activities.

This is a collaboration with the Children's Museum of Pittsburg and is considered the first exhibition of its kind in Chinese mainland. This exhibition takes over the 5th floor of the South block at the Bund Financial Center with multiple areas for children to play, explore and create.

This exhibition highlights the famous books of Carle, including "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do You See", "Head to Toe", "The Lonely Firefly", "10 Little Rubber Ducks", "The Very Quiet Cricket", "The Very Busy Spider" and the famous, "The Hungry Caterpillar".

Through music and projection, his best-selling book "From Head to Toe" is brought to life with music and a guide. And children can perform alongside a book reading.

An installation that is similar to a maze is perfect for children to run through and see all the foods the hungry caterpillar ate throughout the week. And, there is even an area where kids can make their own spider webs.

The art and design area in the back encourages children to paint and draw. Here we can use our fingers to pain, craft and make our own artwork. For us, the gift shop is excellent because it has books and jigsaw puzzles we can take home to play with our kid, including the colouring pens and finger paints.

Of course, there is more than what is mentioned above, and we don't want to give any spoilers!

Great for fans and non-fans of the book series, the exhibition is fun and engaging for all the kid's senses. Come explore this playful world before it is over!
