We met both Year 9 and Year 11 students at Harrow International School Shanghai. It was great to chat to pupils who have so many ambitions, and achievements ahead of them. We talked about their thoughts.
Ben, Year 9
This year I’m taking Spanish, Geography and PE. I want to grow in confidence in my subjects and go for the top grades.
Andrew, Year 12
Right now we are focused on university choices. Personally I’m looking at English universities, and at Sports Science. This means that currently Geography and History are relevant, as sport is all-encompassing.
Kimberley, Year 9
As for subjects that I will choose in the future, I’m not totally sure yet. I’m learning the flute and I want to pass grade 8 eventually.
Jasmine, Year 12
I like English and Mandarin, so I’m considering translation, maybe a course in International Business.

Annie, Year 9
GSCEs are of course important, and aside the exams, the model United Nations and world’s scholars cup are what I am working on this year.
Judy, Year 12
For me, the course and the university are equally important. There are many different types of courses for Physics, and I’ll be applying in 6 months’ time.
William, Year 9
I will choose maths in year 11. As for my achievements, I plan to achieve grade 8 piano this year.
Jamie, Year 12
My passion is composition, so I am looking for Music options. I have written my own songs and I’m looking at finding opportunities to perform in the summer.
